Conditions of Entry

Refer to the General Conditions of Entry & Competition printed in the front of this Schedule.

All entries must be the work of the entrant (except for any mechanical device forming part of the item) and all exhibits must have been crafted in the last twenty-four (24) months.

All exhibits must be delivered to the Burdekin Multi-purpose Hall at the Showgrounds no later than 4.00 pm on Monday 22nd June 2026. No Late Entries will be accepted.

Exhibits must have Exhibit Cards firmly attached when handed to the Stewards.

All entries must be PREDOMINATELY OF TIMBER but may be decorated with paint or other finishes or with other substances, which must also have been worked and/or applied only by the Entrant.

Exhibits cannot be entered in more than one (1) class.

In any class having less than 3 exhibits, only one prize will be awarded. Whether this prize is First Prize is left to the discretion of the Judge whose decision is final.

The Stewards may refuse to accept an item in a class or competition and may re-classify an item into a class other than that nominated.

Open Classes are for all competitors. The Junior Classes are for current Primary & Secondary school students only. In all Junior Classes, please print D.O.B. on Entry Form.

A Novice is someone who has not received an award at any previous Woodworking Show.

Prizes will be withheld where, in the opinion of the Judge, exhibits are of insufficient merit.

Any “For Sale” cards or notices are to be approved by the Stewards. No exhibit will be offered “For Sale” without the consent of the Stewards and/or the Exhibitor.

No Free Passes are available to Exhibitors.

No exhibits are to be removed from the Burdekin Multi-Purpose Hall prior to 9.00 pm on Wednesday 24th June 2026, and then only by a Steward.

Remaining exhibits are to be collected at the Burdekin Multi-Purpose Hall between 9.00 am and 11.00 am on Thursday 25th June 2026. Unless prior arrangements have been made with The Show Secretary, exhibits not collected by 11.00 am on Thursday 25th June 2026 will become the property of the Show Association, to do with as it sees fit.

Prize money and awards will be distributed at the conclusion of the Exhibition on Wednesday night 24th June 2026.

Any prize money / awards not already taken when exhibits are collected on Wednesday night 24th June 2026 are to be collected at the Show Office from Monday, 29th June to Friday 3rd July 2026 between the hours of 3.00 pm & 5.30 pm each day. Unless prior arrangements have been made with the Show Secretary, prize monies not collected by 5.30 pm Friday 3rd July 2026 will become the property of the Show Association.

Judges and Stewards must be permitted to handle any item for purposes of judging, display, or sale.

Prize Certificates must be presented when collecting awards.
